Installation Guide

Step 1

Drill through top plate and Noggings at designed location for M12 threaded rod.

Step 2

Pre-drill* the screw locations and install** the screws to secure the Rod Tie Down Plate to the top surface of the bottom plate at designed location, using four 150mm half threaded provided screws.

Pre-drill*:
Pre-drill screw location with a 5mm diameter drill bit. Pre-drill hole depth shall be 120mm.

Install**: The recommended torque setting is to be no more than 10 N.m.

Step 3

Put the M12 threaded rod through the top plate and nogging. Attach the end of the M12 threaded rod to the Rod Tie Down Plate. Make sure the end of the threaded rod is flush with the bottom surface of the Rod Tie Down Plate.

Step 4

Fix the threaded rod with nut and washer on the top surface of the top plate.

Pre-drill* the screw locations and install** the screws to secure the Rod Tie Down Plate at the designed location on the bottom surface of the GLT beam using the four provided 150mm half threaded screws. Preferably, align it with the top rod tie down plate. If alignment is not possible, a design engineer must check the timber beam design.

Install**: The recommended torque setting is to be no more than 10 N.m.

Step 6

Attach the threaded rod to the bottom Rod Tie Down Plate until the end of the threaded rod flush with the bottom surface of the Rod Tie Down Plate. Continue the threaded rod following the procedures as illustrated in previous steps or else Tie the threaded rod down to the ground.
