Pre-drill* the screw locations and install** the screws to secure the Rod Tie Down Plate to the top surface of the bottom plate at designed location(make sure centre of the plate is at least 250mm away from the end of the beam), using six 150mm half threaded provided screws.
Pre-drill*: Pre-drill screw location with a 5mm diameter drill bit. Pre-drill hole depth shall be 120mm.
Install**: The recommended torque setting is to be no more than 10 N.m.
Pre-drill* the screw locations and install** the screws to secure the Rod Tie Down Plate at the designed location on the bottom surface of the LVL beam using the six provided 150mm half threaded screws. Align it with the top Rod Tie Down Plate. If alignment is not achievable, a design engineer must be contacted and check the timber beam design accordingly.

Locate the four provided Locknail plates, which will be installed onto the LVL beam. Two plates should be positioned on the front face of the beam, and two on the back face. Ensure that each Locknail plate is aligned correctly. The edge of the Locknail plate should be positioned 30mm away from the edge of the rod tie-down plate. Additionally, the top edge of the Locknail plate must be placed 30mm below the top surface of the LVL beam.
This positioning of 30mm from both the rod tie-down plate and the top of the beam is consistent for all LVL beam sizes. Make sure to verify the alignment for each plate before securing them in place. Once the Locknail plates are positioned correctly, use a hammer to firmly fasten them to the beam, ensuring a secure attachment.
