Multinail’s GlideAway
at King Truss

“The GlideAway has made a real difference to the way we produce trusses. We’re seeing better quality and consistency, the process is easier for operators to learn, and we’re less reliant on highly skilled labour.”

Simple to learn and operate

King Truss has introduced Multinail’s GlideAway into its Caloundra truss plant, bringing greater automation to the jigging and pressing stage of production. Since installation, King Truss has seen improvements in production, truss quality and consistency, while reducing the level of specialist skill required on the factory floor.

For King Truss, the benefit is not simply faster machinery. It is a more repeatable production process that is easier to operate, easier to train for and better equipped to deal with one of the industry’s biggest constraints: labour availability.

Improved Production
By automating nailplate positioning and pressing, GlideAway removes a significant manual step from truss assembly, helping keep production moving efficiently and consistently.

Consistent Product Quality
Automated plate selection, positioning and pressing create a controlled, repeatable process, helping King Truss achieve consistent truss quality from job to job.

Less Reliance on Skilled Labour
GlideAway automates a process traditionally dependent on experienced operators, helping King Truss make better use of its workforce and reduce pressure created by skilled labour shortages.

Faster Operator Training
With more of the process automated, new operators can learn the workflow faster — making the production environment easier to staff, easier to scale and less dependent on years of specialist experience.

For King Truss, GlideAway is delivering a simpler, more consistent and less labour dependent way to manufacture trusses.
